Welcome to the information page for Sweden. Here you can find information about the Swedish Herpes Management Forum (SHMF).

Since 1996, the SHMF has worked as a local organization under the umbrella of the IHMF. The SHMF comprises specialists in virology, infectious diseases, dermatovenereology, gynaecology, ophthalmology, oncology and general medicine.

Aims and Objectives

The SHMF strives to continue its work in spreading information to healthcare professionals (and trainees) about the diagnosis and treatment of herpesvirus infections.

Current Activities and Future Plans

Website

The SHMF will be including case reports (with photographs) on its website. Other planned additions include a chat room for physicians.

Activities

SHMF arrange a meeting every second year and a meeting was held in October 2003. This will result in a supplement in a Swedish medical publication, Medikamet, which will be published during spring 2004. All the speakers, presentations will be adapted for presentation in Swedish. Attached is the final programme. The next meeting will be 2005.

This helpline is available on +46 (0)20 650 660. This is a hot line Monday to Thursday between 14.30 and 16.30.
