German Herpes Management Forum

Welcome to the information page for Germany. Here you can find details about the German Herpes Management Forum (GHMF).

The GHMF was founded in December 2001. It comprises specialists in virology, epidemiology, infectious diseases, dermatology and venereology, gynecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology and neurology. The GHMF is affiliated with the Paul-Ehrlich-Gesellschaft in Frankfurt/Main.

Aims and objectives

  • To raise awareness among specialists and primary care physicians on herpesvirus infections and associated issues in Germany

  • To improve knowledge, diagnosis, management and counselling of herpesvirus infections (HSV-1, HSV-2, VZV, CMV, EBV, HHV-6, -7 and-8) in Germany

Current activities and future projects

The next GHMF-Conference will be held during the 8th Congress on Infections Diseases and Tropical Medicine (911 June 2005) in Hamburg.
A separate GHMF meeting is planned in October 2005 in Frankfurt/Main and during the annual congress of the Paul-Ehrlich-Gesellschaft in September 2006 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg.
