HIV/AIDS Treatment Information Service (ATIS) Current Treatment Guidelines
The HIV/AIDS Treatment Information Service (ATIS) is a central resource for federally approved treatment guidelines for HIV and AIDS. ATIS is staffed by multilingual health information specialists who answer questions on HIV treatment options using a broad network of federal, national, and community-based information resources. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - 1998 Guidelines for Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases
These guidelines were developed by CDC staff members after consultation with a group of invited experts who met in Atlanta on February 10-12, 1997. Included are new recommendations for treatment of primary and recurrent genital herpes and management of pelvic inflammatory disease; a new patient-applied medication for treatment of genital warts; and a revised approach to the management of victims of sexual assault. Revised sections describe the evaluation of urethritis and the diagnostic evaluation of congenital syphilis. These guidelines also include expanded sections concerning STDs among infants, children, and pregnant women and the management of patients who have asymptomatic human immunodeficiency virus infection, genital warts, and genital herpes. Guidelines are provided for vaccine-preventable STDs, including recommendations for the use of hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccines.

World Health Organization (WHO) - Guidelines for Sexually Transmitted Infections Surveillance
These guidelines for improving surveillance of sexually transmitted infections are intended to assist in the worldwide effort to prevent them. STI surveillance data should actively be used to improve the quality and effectiveness of STI and HIV prevention programmes and programmes of sexual and reproductive health. STI surveillance is considered by WHO/UNAIDS to be a key component of second-generation HIV/AIDS surveillance systems.

This report focuses primarily on those curable conditions and pathogens that are the main focus of STI control programmes: syphilis, chancroid, gonorrhoea, chlamydial infection, trichomoniasis, and the syndromes that they cause. Although viral infections that are often sexually transmitted (including hepatitis viruses, herpes simplex viruses [HSV], and human papillomaviruses [HPV]) are also of major importance, they are not currently a central focus of most STI control programmes, and are mentioned only briefly in this document.

AIDS
One of the world's leading journals in the field of HIV and AIDS. The Journal publishes original basic science and clinical research papers, and epidemiology and social studies.

Andrologia
The journal Andrologia, first published in 1969, provides an international forum for original papers on the current clinical, morphological, biochemical, and experimental status of organic male infertility and sexual disorder in men. The origin of the articles, which are from all over the world, is mostly the field of andrology reflecting the progress of fundamental research and therapeutic development of andrology. In addition, Andrologia provides articles on anatomy, endocrinology, physiology and veterinary medicine. Andrologia is essential reading for scientists in fundamental andrological research, laboratory diagnosticians and clinicians in all fields (especially dermatologists, endocrinologists, gynaecologists, oncologists and urologists) and veterinarians.

BMJ
This site launched in May 1995 and contains the full text of all articles published in the weekly BMJ since January 1994. In addition, it contains material that is unique to the website. Currently access to the entire site is free. From 2005, some users will have to pay for some content on bmj.com.

Clinical Microbiology and Infection
Clinical Microbiology and Infection is a monthly publication (in English) of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. It publishes peer-reviewed papers that present basic and applied research relevant to therapy and diagnostics in the fields of microbiology, infectious diseases, virology, parasitology, immunology and epidemiology.

The primary aim of Infection is to be a forum for the presentation and discussion of clinically relevant information on infectious diseases for readers and contributors from all over the world. Public health issues of local, regional or international importance related to infectious diseases are featured as well as progress and problems in hospital epidemiology. The main contents of the journal include original articles, reviews and brief reports on new observations that enhance the knowledge of clinicians. Case reports and correspondence are also welcome.

International Journal of Andrology
The International Journal of Andrology publishes papers on all aspects of andrology, ranging from basic molecular research to the results of clinical investigations. It also publishes full reviews and provocative editorials, which discuss and review the hottest topics of the moment. The journal's aims are simple - to promote and integrate basic and clinical research in andrology and to publish the latest ideas in the field.

Journal of Infection
The Journal of Infection publishes original papers on all aspects of infection – clinical, microbiological, epidemiological and molecular. The journal seeks to bring together knowledge from all specialities involved in the research and clinical practice of infection and to present the best work in this ever-changing field.

Journal of Medical Virology
Journal of Medical Virology provides a means of rapid publication of original scientific papers on fundamental as well as applied research concerning viruses affecting humans. These include reports describing the characterization, diagnosis, epidemiology, immunology and pathogenesis of human virus infections, as well as basic studies on virus morphology, genetics, replication and host-cell interactions.

Sexually Transmitted Infections
Since its first publication in 1925, this peer-review journal remains the oldest in the field dealing with issues of sexual health, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV. It attracts original articles on the clinical, microbiological, behavioural, epidemiological, social and historical aspects of STDs, including viral infections such as HIV and AIDS, human papillomavirus, herpes simplex virus and the sexually transmissable hepatitis viruses. Founded in 1904, The Journal of Infectious Diseases publishes original research on the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, on the microbes that cause them, and on disorders of host immune mechanisms. Articles include research results from microbiology, immunology, epidemiology and related disciplines.

Virology
Virology publishes the results of basic research in all branches of virology, including the viruses of vertebrates and invertebrates, plants, bacteria and yeasts/fungi. The journal features articles on the nature of viruses, the molecular biology of virus multiplication, molecular pathogenesis, and molecular aspects of the control and prevention of viral infections.
